Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, c. 664 - 30 BC. A rare Egyptian ceramic situla-type vessel. Ovoid in shape with pointed base, traces of swirls and lines in a pale slip, now faded with age and underneath deposits. An interesting little vessel! H: 3 in (7.7cm). Roman orange-ware jar from Egypt, c. 4th-5th Century AD.
The body angled at mid-section with small flattened foot, short neck and wide, flat rim. H: 2 5/8" (65 mm). Predynastic Egypt. Naqada II, c. 3650 - 3300 BC. Great Egyptian Predynastic redware vessel. Hand-modeled and piriform in shape with rolled narrow rim. The deep red-orange burnished surfaces well-preserved and a nice example! H: 4 1/4 in (10.8 cm). Light surface deposits. With metal stand (entire height 4 3/4 in (12 cm) with stand). Ancient Egypt. New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC. Rare Egyptian ceramic flask with a pair of vestigial handles flanking a short neck with flared mouth; two rows of impressed divots on either side. Measures 3 5/8" x 2 7/8" (9 x 7 cm). A nice vessel, light deposits. With custom metal base (entire piece stands 4 3/8" (11 cm) tall. Ex Malter Galleries, Encino, CA.
