The Rarest Alexander the Great Artifact I've Had!
Macedon, c. 336-300 BC. An incredibly rare silver repoussé decoration depicting the obverse of an Alexander the Great drachm. Expertly and sensitively crafted in ancient times, with stunning detail. He is depicted as Herakles, clad in the Nemean Lion-skin headdress, four punched holes from where it was attached to armor or clothing long ago. A museum-worthy piece that I should probably never sell. It is so incredibly cool. 29x23 mm, 2.06 g. From the D.K. Collection; ex CNG. #AG2318: $2400
