A rare British Celtic lead votive idol, circa 2nd-1st century BC. A lead idol figure of minimalist form, displaying an elongated body with hands folded together on the chest. Head round and bald with pronounced eyes and nose. Size: 53mm (2 1/16”). A very rare British Celtic relic! From the private collection of an Essex gentleman; previously in an old British Collection, formed in the 1990s. A central crescent-shaped element with two decorative ends, each with a central round indentation and three small loop decorations around, possibly for attaching dangling bells or other devices, two loops on one side broken. Huge Celtic fibula / toga pin, c.10th - 8th Century BC. Comprised of a single wire formed into two horizontal spirals, each with eight turns, with simple pin and catch. Measures 3 1/8" (7.9 cm) long. Celtic Ireland! Amazing silver lunula (crescent) pendant, 5th-2nd century BC. The lunula was a representation of the moon and variations have been recorded in finds all over Ireland. Many are held at the National Museum of Ireland and at the British Museum in London. This specimen comes from a private German collection. It was made of a hammered crescent-shaped sheet of silver and fastened with a single silver loop. A beautiful little piece! Measures 25x25 mm (1x1"). ref: G Coffey xxvii p252, Macalister pp31-33.

Rare Bronze Age 'Hallstatt Type' razor. Rounded blade with wide shoulders, triangular-section rod handle pierced for suspension. Celtic, c. 3rd - 1st Century BC. A fantastic large Celtic silver hair ring or clothing ring. Formed from a heavy silver ingot with one end flattened the other pointed with incised decoration. Rings such as these besides holding an intrinsic value were used as hair rings as well as clips for scarves or similar. Dia: 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" (3.5 x 3.5 cm). weighs 10.37g. Measures 8.5”L x 3.25”W. With an ancient hole at nearly the exact weight distribution point, allowing it to be hung in a balanced way, indicating this was for currency rather than being utilitarian in nature.
